Mochi? Not the mochi candy toppings at the frozen yogurt shop but the stuff in the refrigerated case of your local co-op. It is a whole grain rice product, the original flavor only contains rice and water! It is baked in the oven where it puffs up, crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. I am loving it as a snack because it is filling, has no sugar, and the girls like it. I put out several dips for them to try with it - peanut butter, honey, and jam. We also like the chocolate brownie flavor and the raisin-cinnamon flavor. I think it would be great for breakfast with a glass of milk and some fresh fruit or as an appetizer with soy sauce and fresh ginger. Try it and let me know what you think!
(Still taking that photography class, so no great photos yet of the mochi...)
